Smartphone Users Emerge as Movie Junkies

Nielsen is reporting that smartphone users attend up to 9 percent more movies than an average moviegoer. According to the NRG’s 2012 American Moviegoing Report tablet users attend about 20 percent more films than the average. Tablet owners also have the tendency to spend 35 percent more on entertainment than the average, non-connected moviegoer. It is believed that the amount of connectedness to the Internet can also affect what consumers choose to watch, or which movie they tweet, comment and post about.
