A 3-D Printed Face

Source: The Sidney Morning Herald

Doctors in the UK successfully used 3-D printing to create a facial prosthetic. Using CT and facial scans, doctors created a model for half of Eric Moger's face, a half that was completely removed during surgery to eradicate a tennis ball-sized tumor years ago. Made out of nylon plastic, the facial prosthetic was screwed in place and fit onto Moger’s face, and it now enables him to eat and drink normally again without having to use tubes.
