Asobiuta, Japanese traditional nursery rhymes, are now outdated, but are extremely useful for the early-stages in music education because they are very enjoyable and easy to remember without a music score. We attempted to produce a karaoke animation program on asobiuta that would be available on TV and the Internet. During the creation process, we arranged these songs into popular music format and designed the animation to resemble karaoke, so that children could sing them by following the words on a video screen.
